Even before I was a christian, I've had a great love for Soledad Canyon and the Santa Clarita Valley.
My dad took me on a train ride through this area; mom and sis packed a picnic or two and we'd spend the day here.
So it was no surprise to me when our Lord Jesus moved my wife and I to start a work out here years later.
I felt a little like Nehemiah, who also had a passion for Jerusalem.
As I worked for Amtrak, we ministered and some six months later I was able to begin serving full time as Senior Pastor here at Calvary Chapel Santa Clarita.
I am so blessed to be able to serve these wonderful children of Jesus Christ here at Calvary Chapel Santa Clarita.
I love watching them grow as the Word is taught to them, and it's a beautiful thing to see their victories.
It is also equally encouraging for me to see when they discover their gifts and utilize them for God's glory.
How awesome, especially when some have started other works for Jesus.
Not long ago, a christian gentleman and his wife provided some acreage for us to build on in gorgeous Bouquet Canyon; and God willing we pray, one day soon, to construct a facility.
I consider it a profound priviledge to have ministered these years at Calvary Chapel Santa Clarita.
Some times I still find it hard to believe that I have been blessed to be used by God to do his work here.
As I look back, I have had the great opportunity to serve men and women, and their children.
Some have come and gone, but what a blessing in Jesus Christ to think He'd use me in just a small way to each life.
